March was a great month for TEDxCharlottesville. We offered the TEDLive event and had over 320 community visitors/watchers throughout the day!! Again Charlottesville is showing its support for TED programming and we remain excited about that. If you didn’t get a chance to attend the live stream event at the Paramount, or watch it online, you can watch the talks here. In addition to the talks, those who attended the Live stream event at the Paramount were able to hear/see TEDxCville’s very own Richard Averitt and John Hunter as they Skyped directly from Vancouver to share with the Cville audience their experience and the beautiful view. It was an exciting moment for many reasons and especially because John Hunter was invited back as a TED Legend – selected as one the top TED speakers of all time.

We’ve also been highlighting TEDxCharlottesville speakers via our TEDxC_ville Twitter account. Whether you attended last November’s event or heard about it later, the speaker line-up was wonderful and well worth watching (again.) We are highlighting these speakers as we secure speakers for this years TEDx event. If the 2014 speaker line-up so far is any indication, it is going to be a diverse, energetic, inspiring, provocative and innovative group.

So where are we in the planning process? At minimum, we are ahead of where we were last year and our excitement level remains high. We’ve already secured more sponsors, a good number of speakers and looking to try some new things this year. Don’t worry, we will keep you posted all year on this blog. If you have ideas, suggestions, comments or compliments, let us hear from you! This is after all a locally organized, sponsored and supported event. You are integral to TEDxCharlottesville.
